    Default Martinis

I had a couple last night made with Ultimat vodka. Tiny splash of vermouth and then shaken til they were super cold.

I will also admit to having a couple of Vespers recently. 3 Measures Gordons gin, 1 measure vodka, half a measure of Lillet with a thin slice of lemon peel. Very good even if you run the risk of looking like a Bond fan-boy. Ian Fleming knew his way around a bar, that's a fact.

    Anybody else like martinis?

Yes, as long as it is a martini.

Someone needs to slap these people that think anything with cranberry juice is somehow a martini.

and let's not forget that the presence of tiny umbrellas automatically disqualifies the drink as a martini!

    That's not a Martini...That's a health hazard to a serious drinker.

    Cheers, fellow Martini lovers.
I'm preferring Gin to Vodka lately but the Vesper works for me.
Anyone tried Cointreau rather than Lillet ?

Extremely dry tanqueray straight up with a twist please and if i'm feeling daring i'll take a hot and dirty. A dirty martini with tabasco shaken in.

I'm the old fashioned fart that says it has to have gin to be a martini, but that's neither here nor there

I started with Vodka martinis, but I do like them with gin as well. Slightly dirty.
