Cinco de Mayo
The blender is calling - Margarita time! My favorite:
Patron Silver
Grand Marnier (no Triple sec)
Lime juice
Mix 3:2:1 tequila, Marnier, juice - just enough ground ice to float the liquid and plenty of salt on the rim. Joy.
What's your favorite?

shot and a beer .... whatever happens to be in the cabinet and the fridge .
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

My method is three shots of tequila gold, two shots of Grand Marnier or Cointreau and the juice of two limes. Chuck in a handful of ice and shake well.
This serves two by the way, or one, if you're thirsty..!

Cinco de Mayo's come and gone, but I'm still killin' these margaritas! Always rocks, no salt.
I learned this way in Mexico and it does the trick:
2 parts Tequila
1 part Cointreau
1 part fresh lime juice
1 part simple syrup
Recently I tried this recipe, but I don't know...
2 oz. tequila
Juice of one lime
2 tsp. of Agave Nectar
When I'm lazy I'm not above the pre-made mix stuff, and I do a 50-50 ratio of tequila-to-mix.
The problem with the second one is I've got to squeeze the damn lime into the glass because it's not a measurement! How much juice is in a lime? What if it's a little lime? Why not just say, "To taste"?
I use blanco in my 'ritas and I'm working on a bottle of Herradura now. It's pretty good, and you can definitely sip it if you like. Hornitos is also a good bottle. Personally, the agave flavor (which is that really sweet, almost vanilla-ish flavor) is the best part of both tequila and a 'rita, and the reposados and anejos mask it with the oak flavors.

I'm not huge on traditional margaritas. I like a bunch of tequila, a little margarita mix, a splash of water and maybe two or three cubes of ice. I go by eye.
Also, the fantastic margarita shot - splash of mix, shot of tequila, splash of mix layered in a shooter glass.
These days, however, I prefer to just sip tequila. I got the gf some Herradura Anejo and we share it.
