I've "aged" some, but not very many. It's tough to let them sit around especially if they're good. Now that I'm into this "shaving thing", my cigar purchases have suffered some.

After dinner tonight a Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 robusto. Very nice with a glass of Crown Royal.
Just clipped the cap on a Padron 1964 Anniversary. Time to relax now!
Last night Hoyo De Monterey Especiales
A H. Upmann Sir Winston from a 2003 box bought at LCDH Partagas factory. Is there a better standard production Cuban cigar - I doubt it. Fantastic pleasure from Vuelta Abajo:)
H.Upmann Magnum 50 bought in the Duty Free in Frankfurt.
A superb Diplomaticos No. 2 tonight.
across the street from pawn stars he rolls his own and at a good price
Im in my back yard enjoying one now with some scotch trader joes brand:rock:
I have been wanting to pick up a box of Diplomaticos #2 for a while now. I take it they agree with you. Diplomaticos is a sub brand of Montiecristo made for the French market (or was it Spanish). Basically a Montie #2 at $50 a box less.
Tonight it is a Romeo Y Julieta Viejo for me
You are correct that Diplomaticos was a sort of sub brand of Montecristo, it was introduced in 1966 as a less expencive alternative to the famous Montecristo brand, initially targeting the French market. But at least today the blend between a Montecristo No. 2 and a Diplomaticos No.2 is different. While Monte 2 is a "mass produced" cigar with some great boxes and some not so great, Diplo 2 is a minor brand with very low production and a more consistent blend. The Diplomaticos No. 2 I have smoked has been very complex and quite strong, at least as strong as recent Montecristo No. 2`s. The construction has been excellent, and the cigar quite complex. The last one I smoked was from a 2007 box, good already, but with expected further improvement in the future.
Tonight I will smoke a Partagas Serie P No. 2 from a SVF ENE 2005 box.
Just walked by my local cigar store and couldn't help but walk in.
Picked up a few cigars.
3 Romeo y Julieta churchills and 2 Romeo y Julieta #2's
Have no where to really store them tho. They are sealed in tubes tho. Can I just wet the bag they are in and keep them in the fridge for a while?
When you are actually so interested, buying 3 RyJ Churchill`s I mean walking by a cigar store, get yourself a small desktop humidor, or better a large one...
But to answer your question. Let the cigars be in their tubos and put them in ZipLock bags without any water added and store them at a cool and dark place in your home. If you put them in the fridge for a long time they will get the taste of your fridge.. Stored in Zip`s like I suggested they should be fine (if properly stored until you bought them) for a couple of weeks. For longer ageing you should get yourself a humidor or put them in a humid wine-cellar if your house has something like that. If you live in a very dry and warm place, smoke them earlier than I suggested.
Rocky Old World Reserve maduro and a Punch Rare Corojo.
Very nice Vegas Robaina Habana today. If you haven't ever tried one of these, it is a really good cigar and not too expensive.
have fun,
Lynn
A mid-70's Cuban Partagas PC thanks to a dear friend. Excellent care and superb smoke. :)
Howdy all,
Quick question. I just bought a box of cigars off a local add. Checking them over I realized they were quite dry. I have a humidor coming in the next week or so. But what do you all recommend until then.
Also if I don't have any distilled water at the moment will tap or spring water do more harm than good?
Thanks for the help
Basil
Doing a Padron 2000M.
Had a monster Punch Gran Puro double corona and Puros Indios Viejo while cleaning out the garage.
I like the bathroom idea. I always take hot showers so it get humid in there.
Just a quick question tho. Does anyone know any good cigar forums where I can learn? Something just like our srp(how could it even compare to us tho)
Just read.....I mean smoked a Hemingway short story. Love the A. Fuentes and the Islay I drank with it.
Testing out one of the cigars from my recent purchase.
Picked up a box of Romeo y julieta coronita en cedero.
Still on the dry side but alot better from when I first got them.
Great taste smooth smoke.
Enjoyed it while in front of a fire watching the rain fall on this cold autum night in Toronto.
On a side note going cigar store exploring tomorrow I'll let you guys know what I discover.
Monte cristo #1 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Today was a very enjoyable cigar day.
First went to explore a cigar shop that makes their own stuff with Cuban tobacco. I was very impressed with the small cigar I smoked at the factory that I bought 8 Churchill sized cigars( 4 Maduro wrapper, 4 claro) they were barely wrapped a week ago.
I was then on my way to my local shop and picked up a nice haul.
Picked up a montecristo edmundo.
Partagas D4 (you all spoke so highly of them I had to get one)
And two bolivar b-2. A special Canadian only release from what I remember reading.
The fresh cigars are gonna be aged for sure but now with everythjng I've picked up I cant decide what to smoke first.
Yes I do. Search for Internationalcigarclub!
Smoked a few cigars the last week. Romeo y Julieta Chruchill 2006, Diplomaticos No. 1 2007, Punch Super Selection No. 1 2008, Saint Luis Rey Double Corona 2007, Ramon Allones Gigantes 2007 and H. Upmann Sir Winston 2003. What is better than a lonely place up in the mountains, fishing, thinking about everything and nothing at all with a Havana in your mouth:)
It is national cigar month here in the states. JoeCigar.com has been running a jam for the past 4 days. Some killer deals. Wish I had room and money but I am up to 1600ish cigars in the humi's. The past few days I have gone through several Punch Rare Corojo's, an Uppercut or two, an Oliva O or two, Nica Libre, Romeo Y Julieta Viejo's, Partagas Black Label and others I dont remember.
Oh wow, never saw this thread! Thursday i was at a cigar tasting and they had three Different Room 101s. The special Blend was awesome. Also I had a Montecristo #3 today. Taste was spectacular....... but I never have had a run with a montecristo... it upset me that i did today because at 10$ a stick thats not supposed to happen. Never had a run with a Padron or a RP, there half the cost.. montecristo.. that was heartbreaking.
Partagas Series D Especial 2010
I've really enjoyed the Rocky Patels recently - enjoyed a "1961" this evening. A great smoke.
:DQuote:
1961
In commemoration of his birth year, Rocky Patel has released a new cigar called ROCKY PATEL 1961. This medium-to full-bodied cigar was masterfully blended with a Habano seed wrapper from Ecuador, a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The result is a smoke that's rich and spicy, yet smooth and elegant. ROCKY PATEL 1961 is the inaugural brand hailing from Rockyıs newest cigar factory in Nicaragua called Tabacalera Villa Cuba. It's sure to be the first of many great new cigars to join an already outstanding brand portfolio.
It was my cousins wedding this weekend the groom passed out some cigarillos which were not bad.
To celebrate in style tho I have a Romeo y Julieta coronitas en cedero with me at work. Gonna have a smoke after a quick lunch.
Had a Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona I bought in 1998 last night. It made my evening a superb one, outstanding cigar. When I smoke cigars like this I`m happy that I have always put away Havanas for ageing.
Just finished an Alec Bradley Family Blend and some Highland Single Malt. A wonderful night cap.:)
I'll be firing up a Padron 2000M in about two shakes!
Juan Lopez #2, outstanding.
The LGC Taino was an excellent cigar. I wish they left the blend alone.
cold day today but warmed up with a glass of metaxa brandy and a Monetcristo #4
Around 45 years old and came together perfectly! A genuine treat from a great brother of the leaf!
A Tobacos Beaez robusto from Don Pepin Garcia's My Father line. One of their cigar reps was at my local shop and I took advantage of the great deals.
