    Gurkha weekend for me...

...started off with a Pinker on Friday night, bit of a pricey stick but thoroughly enjoyable! Don't like the intimidating size fool you, complex flavours that aren't a 'kick in the teeth' at all. My third so far and all have been just as enjoyable.

Had a Cellar Reserve on Sat at the dog park...read some reviews that this stick was over hyped, but IMHO I cannot agree with that at all. Great stick, great stick indeed; will become part of my regular rotation as well.

La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel Gorda, 5 1/2 x 48.
"Crafted to look like a mini wedge, this dark cigar has a notably firm draw, though each puff is full of pepper and spice that become hearty with leather and more intense as the cigar smokes. Impressive power and balance".
    Nice cigar!

Oddly enough I had one of these yesterday as well! If you like the double ligero, I strongly suggest the CAO Lx2 (Ligero times two).

Couldn't help but notice, you used a punch on the chisel?

Today I had an Alec Bradley Connecticut...yet another great stick from this house!

    Yeah, simple cigar punch.
    Punch Rare Corojo Champion Figurado, 4 1/2 x 60.
"Shaped like a little bowling pin, this figurado is spicy and woody with sweet cedar notes and a touch of bitterness on the finish".
    Interesting and tasty cigars.

Everyone does indeed have their own tastes, I enjoyed the Connecticut a fair amount; found it oddly similar to a Monte #2...although obviously differences were noted.

Truthfully the only stick I've had from the AB house that didn't impress me was their Black Market (and I've tried 3 of them to date...). It was suggested that I let it age for a 'bit' in the humi beforehand, I currently have 2 that have been in for 6 months; will post a review when done.

I've had numerous My Father cigars and yet to have an issue with any of them (draw/burn/flavour), this morning I had a (My Father) Flor De Las Antillas and was again suitable impressed (#1 Cigar of 2012 Cigar Aficionado). My cigar monger is selling them for a very decent price (up here at least), I think I'll have to stock up on them!!

I agree completely. Each persons pallet differs, I on the other hand love the Black Market haha

I have a few Flor de Las Antillas in my humidor now have yet to try them but really looking forward it.

Really the couple I've been dying to try are Liga Privada - Undercrown , Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure l , and the above mentioned La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero.

Perhaps the aging will make all the difference for my Black Markets...?

I truly cannot remember if I tried the Liga Privada, however I know I've tried the Undercrown; if memory serves me correct it wasn't a bad stick but it didn't blow my hair straight back. I've tried a few Warlocks and I would take that over the UC.

    Again...YMMV!

    Cheers!

EDIT I HAVE tried the Liga Privada and would definitely recommend it!
