I love this cigar now and again... . Its just a nice dirty smoke bomb that leaves a great lingering tingle.

First time I have smoked it pre-noon. Thought it might be nice on a cooler, rain filled morning. But I am thinking maybe it's a better late aft / golf course cigar.

I have one of these resting safely in my humidor right now. I haven't heard much about them. I'm interested in giving it a go now.

This evening's smoke is Thanks to Andrew (HarryWally) who generously donated a whole flock of them to the McBladescar Humidor What a guy!
    Cohiba - 7" X 47 Esplendido
Needs some time in the humidor but still just a fantastic gesture.
    Thanks again Andrew

Well - today's cigar is brought to me by the fine makers of Carlos Torano... via how many middle-people, God only knows .

    Gents... The "Virtuoso."

According to Wikipedia, the word "virtuoso" refers to "a person who has cultivated appreciation of artistic excellence, either as a connoisseur or collector." So I am guessing Mr. Torano's team expects those who have cultivated an appreciation for cigar excellence, to buy and enjoy said Virtuoso lol.

Well - one out of two ain't bad - I did buy it after all lol. Just joking. It's an alright cigar. Definitely not my my favorite Torano. But if a good time for you beckons the middle of your tongue to scream, "holey pepper Batman," then this cigar is for you !!

So in an effort to find a "go-to" cigar, I have really been stepping out of my comfort zone and have been buying 5 packs of all kinds oh lovely hand rolled long leaf goodness. Today's goodness had me really excited! The Villager "Libertad!"

Now if you have ever spent time in Europe you know the name Villager. They make a ton of machine made cigars that are well... inexpensive. But I have always loved them! So when I heard they were making this cigar now, a hand rolled long leaf!! I was stoked. I really became excited when I saw ratings of 92!! I nearly died when I saw how cheaply they were gong for in auction, so I picked up a "fiver" .

    And tonight I smoke...

This is without a doubt a fantastically rolled smoke! The draw is perfect, the smoke is awesome, and man can this thing hold an ash!! When it did fall, a little after this photo, the thud was impressive lol!!

Not only is this stick well constructed - it burns slow and cool. You can leave it and it has no issue coming back to life! The construction - again - is great. But how does it taste? Well if you look at my final photo you'll note the cigar is resting on a coke. I don't drink much soda as a rule but, the initial blast of metallic... something, was too much for my pallet to handle. I wasn't going to give up right off - but I needed something to kill the taste - I mean complement it lol. If I didn't want to love the thing, I might have been tempted to throw it out right there lol.

Now before getting discouraged or thinking I am crazy because you love these sticks know this: A. I broke one of my rules smoking this stick. I only let it sit in my Humi for 8 days. And B. the taste did settle down.

Considering how well the cigar performed burning though, I fear that this is ultimately its flavor, though it did mellow into something respectable. I'll let the other 4 sit for a couple of months. I am still hoping .

Any of you guys smoke this stick?

So I figured since my last Carlos Torano wasn't the best... I HAD to let the brand redeem itself . So I pulled out the Exodus; and from the pre-light, I knew it was going to be a better experience.

Not long after I light the thing though - I noted I had forgotten a cocktail. Dang it! Can't smoke a cigar and howl at the moon all hoarse like!!

    - that dot to the right of the cigar is actually the moon

Somehow I walked right past the beer fridge, the liquor cabinet, and headed right to the fridge and grabbed the milk after turning on the stove! The milk?!? Yup! The milk. This hot chocolate is... well gents, its a nice chewy dark cigars friend. Could even be his best friend .

    - Sorry. It's not hot chocolate gents... its freaking "European Drinking Chocolate!"

And there you have it. What a great way to end a long Saturday after finally getting the kids to bed... letting Carlos Torano redeem himself .
