Been smoking it daily for 16-17 years. Usually buy bulk but for a brief time they were out of stock so I bought tins. Great tobacco.

Been a long while since I have posted in this thread being a very occasional pipe smoker. I only 1 pipe to my name, a Julius Vesz, bought second hand at the antique/junk store a couple of years ago. Today I had an eye opener concerning pipe tobacco. On a whim I picked up a tin of Solani English Luxury Mixture after gagging on the price. Had to be one of, if not the nicest, smokes I have had. Just smooth, cool burning with no bite. The pipe just may see a bit more use now.

After a hiatus from pipe smoking since late November I am able to resume enjoying a pipe. Today's treat was Tabac Sherman 536 in my restored James Upshall Canadian while sitting outside on the patio in the sun. Vitamin N and Vitamin D, a pleasurable combination.

After hearing so much about the SG and HG tobaccos, I had to try some. Unfortunately, Smokingpipes.com is out of several of the recommended blends. But, I tried some others.
I really liked the SG Black XX. Cool burning with no bite. In one of James Herriot's books, he mentioned a local carving on a black twist that was a bit scary in appearance. I think I know the brand name now.;)

I did not much care for the Cabbie's Mixture. It had a bit of a bite. I will try it again before deciding if it is for me.

Cabbies needs a bit of druyng .Not too much or the flavour goes down the trash can . I have smoked over 200 tins of Sam Gawith , and i can recomend aways 1 type of doing it .
First rubb veeery well , and very fine , untill is fluffy and fine . Second - put ot on a paper sheet for printer A4 , and make hot , the paper with the lighter from the downside . Disperse the tobacco and wait 2 minutes as the paper absorb the moistue
Pack a clean pipe , with a wider and shalow bowl. When good light the boul , just take the needle of the tamper and put the lid tobacco down , a bit and get an unlid tobacco on top . Tamp slightly relight and enjoy .

Back in Florida, left last Tuesday as my dad's health was failing very quickly, he passed before we were able to get here on Wednesday. Most of my issues with my pipe and inhaling were from worrying about my dad. He is no longer suffering.
Brought some Bayou Morning and Old Joe Krantz down here to smoke in my Castello's.
Very sorry to hear your father passed.
Early Morning Pipe, in an Ashton ELX Pebble Grain stack Canadian. No date code so probably '91 when he seems to have misplaced the stamp.
