Back home from a hard week at work. Having some '1820' from Pete system. Antler tamper and vintage Parker Roller Beacon lighter.
Something for Philip: My grandfathers Mosin-Nagant m/28 from WW2. Usually these rifles are stamped as 'SA' which is an abbreviation of Finnish Army but this has a stamp 'SY' which makes it maybe little more rare these days.
M-N m/29 models are generally known as a Spitz dogs here because of the front sight that reminds of a spitz dog ears up. During the war soldiers talked and still do about 'spitz dog barking' when they heard shooting.

And now totally something different not related to pipes at all.
This week we were working at the archipelago, doing this and that on several isles. My junior collague had his dog with him; life smiles when you can have a good friend with you.
One evening we were based on some island, the dog was out in the forest. Suddendly we heard hell of a noise, the dog was obviously having a fight with some beast or whatever. Pretty soon it came back. It was little bloody, had 2 wildcat nails in its face and it was carrying very lightly this little dude in its teeth. Obviously wildcat had tried to catch the rabbit when dog got there and disagreed.
Now we've been feeding this little rabbit in our ship with herbs and grass and some liquid we got from medics. The rabbit seems to be ok, and if it is about to survive, we'll let it back in the same island within few weeks, once it is old enough to make it on its own.
It's nice to do something useful for a change :)
I think it is time to reward myself by going to sauna and having one or probably more beer.

So where is the Double Thanks or Like for the rabbit? Sailor, now you have to figure out how to send me a Finish Squirel and Rabbit...
As for the Mosin... I have heard wonderful things about the Finish Rifles... I've been thinking about getting one for the collection...
Sitting on the back deck with a tall cup of coffee and an eagle claw meershaum loaded with Autumn Evening. Storm just blew throughso it is nice and cool with the crickets starting to chirp. Great night on the farm.
