Today it's whistle pipes :). A few of my pipes with a newly finished whistle I made for a friend. It's in the key of Low G and plays quite nicely. Not my best whistle to date, but good all the same.
Pipes from left to right are Dawn Mist Claypipe, Peterson System and B.B&S (second).

When I first put in my bid it was still a few days out and I said at that time it would probably go for something North of $100. I was right.

I know it's an old one so that has something to do with the price but by comparison, here's a similar brand spanking new pipe for less money

I'm leaning toward the new (vs. new to me) market. Don't get me wrong, I dig old pipes (the vast majority of my rotation is pre-1938) but for that kind of money, I think brand new is the way to go. I'm thinking the latter would be a fine Father's day present.

Today has been good. I received a nice little package in the mail from ChesterCopperpot (thanks Seth) that had a tin of Peterson Sweet Killarney, a generous sample of Distinguished Gentleman and a tub of Cella shave cream. Both tobaccos were run through a pipe today and both were a very pleasant change from my standard fare. I'm pleasantly impressed with the DG. It isn't one that is readily available here, and so it was a bit extra special for me. The SK is available here, but has to be ordered from specialist shops at inflated prices...Well more inflated than usual. I will be trying out the Cella later on, as I usually shave the night before leaving for farming duties, due to having to leave extra early to get there.
Seth, I will send you something in return for your generosity soon, something with an Australian flavour to it that's for sure. It will be a surprise, so don't bother asking. You'll just have to wait and see. :)

Awesome, I've been waiting weeks to hear your thoughts about the package :beer1: Hopefully you didn't have to pay much duty for it.
