I too have been to LA and it did nothing for me, I've been there twice. It's 440 miles South of me, and, IMHO, the best part of LA is; that it's 440 miles South of me! I shudder to think that visitors to the USA end up in LA and then think they have been to California. LA is not California, it should be it's own City/State. San Francisco is a better destination, people are still wacky, but it's just a neat place to visit. I've always wanted to go to the East Coast and the South, Louisiana sounds really cool to me.

Beautiful pipes, but you seem to have some beautiful violins as well.
I wish i could play some instrument too.
You play in any orchestra or such?

Thanks Sailor! No I don't play in any orchestra, but I have a musical instrument shop, and I am a collector, so my house is full of stuff...
I play in a couple of bands, but, musically speaking, I am an ignorant. I've been playing for 24 years before I took some lesson, and it was just to learn how to deal with a violin...
If you want to play, all you need is an instrument, time, some online lesson and a big will to do it, that is one of the most difficult things to find, especially as an adult... I thank the Gods I was 14 when I've got that idea on my mind...

Places where it's like that all the time are used to it an equipped to function so "snow days" are pretty infrequent. In Fairbanks, AK I don't remember EVER seeing anything being shut down for weather. By contrast when I lived in Abilene TX, 3/4 of an inch of snow would shut down everything immediately

I just finished sharpening a few of my pocket knives (holy crap, when did I end up with this many!). Now for some Frog Morton in the Altinok with a little Glenmorangie the Quinta Ruban 12YO on the side.

By and large we are driving in it from the time we start driving, I have spent the tree winters since I started driving in Minnesota, driving a 1994 Mustang, and to the best of my recollection only gotten stuck twice. If you drive in it every day you learn to handle your car safely in it, and the infrastructure of the area (plows, salt etc.) are set up to handle it so the roads are clear within hours.
