For reasons unknown, I had fallen away from the pipe in the last month or so. I smoke cigarettes and they had taken over in some ways. Inspired by Jirsa Day, I've gotten back into the joy that smoking a pipe is. It's kinda strange, it's almost like a rediscovery of sorts. The pipes seem to smoke better and the tobacco tastes so much better. Yesterday I rediscovered some Orient 996 and some Esoterica Pembroke. Today it's some Mac Baren navy mixture in a cob. I hope everybody has a great day and a great weekend!!

I had the great pleasure of opening a vintage tin of dunhill durbar with a friend of mine today. What a divine smoke!

To console myself of the loss of my clay pipe, and because today it was my birthday, I bought myself this Savinelli Qandale. It is very pleasant, and has a funny story. The tobacconist kept on calling it "Gandalf". He said the Savinelli representative person used to call it so. I guess they had to change the name because Vauen bought the rights of the Lord of the Rings pipes... After all, "Qandale" doesn't mean anything... :)
Tobacco: independence. I had lunch with my band and their families (lot of children running around), and we ended up smoking Independence all together. We emptied the tin, and I will have to buy more. The problem is that it is not going to be imported to Italy any more, and so I will have to buy every tin I find, just to be sure. Tomorrow I will start the hunt!
... and my Peavey Jack Daniel's ukulele.
