@Mauri.....I can see how you would be so attached to that pipe, the fox is pretty cool looking. Maybe...hhmmm just a thought now. But maybe you could either a)find a plain one and have a custom paint on it or b) have one custom made?? Pretty expensive I know, but just a thought anyway. I am curious....what is the italian word for fox ??:)

That's a nice looking pipe Robert !:chapeau
The italian for fox is volpe. It had fox hair at the ends of the thread, that in 20 years dried so much that they fell apart, it looks like a sign that it had done its time. After all, that pipe wasn't so pleasant to smoke because it became so hot after a few puffs that you could not hold it in your hand, so I will look for a different long stem pipe. I am uncertain between a Peterson churchwarden and a Savinelli long stem that I saw in the tobacconist window near my shop... I'll post a picture of it once I have decided!

Pipe: Arian (I don't know the brand, but it's French, and, strangely enough, it is the perfect pipe. I never found anything that works so well, and I've got it for just 15 Euros from the bay!!!)
Tobacco: Red Roses - I definitely love it!
Movie: Corto Maltese's Corte Sconta Detta Arcana. A very romantic and classy movie, I recommend it to you all if you can find it translated!
Another proof that high price doesn't automatically mean better pipe. It's up personal preferences. Probably i've found my 'best' pipes cheaply from flea markets.
Of course many modern and past pipe makers are known to make only good pipes.
Ot, i've never seen Corto in movies, but that Maltese is one of my top favorites of the genre. Needless to say, inspector Canardo is another (probably you already noticed it from my avatar). Used to read a lot of Herge as kid.
