Visitors! Come to Dresden. You can visit all the historic sights. The People of Dresden still awaiting YOU!
Hope they can get that dried out soon ? Pretty town just the same though. Hang tough Dresden !
I flew into So Cal this morning for a 1:30 hearing; arrived a few hours early so I stopped by a local pipe shop and picked up some goodies. I just smoked a bowl of the Escudo Navy De Luxe. I used a corn cob pipe that I picked up as I did not want to light up the Savinelli just yet. I'll wait until I get back home. Anyhow, the Escudo was good and burned well, although the after taste reminds me of the flavor after smoking a cigar, which is not a bad thing.
This is pipe number seven for me, and I am done for now. I enjoy all six pipes, and I am sure I will enjoy this one as well.

0H NO!!! I am in the LAX airport waiting for my flight home. I am traveling with a small briefcase that is overstuffed with my laptop and file. Well, the stem broke on the pipe! I am only glad that it was not too expensive, and I have six great pipes at home. Not sure what I'll do with this broken and dysfuctional Savinelli that has not yet had a chance to burn some tobacco.
Although that is a heart-wrenching story, I believe there can be a happy ending to it. I believe a stem would be a pretty easy job for someone qualified in pipe repair. Contact a few until you find one you are comfortable with, and let them work their magic.
My heart breaks for you though. I think we all understand how you felt when you discovered that your treasure had been compromised. Good luck!
Thanks, I'm okay with it, because it's only a pipe, and although it was a nice looking pipe and of the dimensions I prefer, it is only a pipe. I will check with a pipe repair guy when I get home to see if it will be worth the effort to repair. Thank you.

I've sat on a few over the years with similar results. More annoying than catastrophic really, for an expensive pipe it's not that costly a fix but for a cheaper one I'd probably chalk it up to experience and move on.
Tonight was Orlik in the Arley Kurtz apple, with a few fingers of rye whiskey-- it's a really great combination.
