Thread: Choices...

I wouldn't have a clue which way to go myself. I'm currently tossing up between three 'phones:

Nokia n97

HTC Desire

iphone 3Gs

Currently favouring the HTC Desire at the moment.

The Nokia N8, Windows 7, iphone 4 etc. are all priced out of my range, especially as I'm sticking with the same telco to keep the whole package deal together.

Such a shame mobile 'phones are really just a fashion statement for the young yuppies of the world. Making a mobile 'phone fashionable takes the 'Tool' out of the 'phone and puts the 'Tool' on the 'phone instead!

I have HTC Desire and i've been happy this far. There are more than plenty of apps available and i specially like its ability to serve as a wi-fi hotspot.
I switched from Nokia N91 and it was easy to learn to use the new phone in a week. Probably iphone is easier to use, but once you've learned to use Android there's no much difference imho. I have Macbook and it works ok with HTC as well with external apps.
My wife has n97 and she is happy with it (although she no good with any technical device).

Once Nokia launches Meego it could be interesting, but i do not want to change my phone too often. I rather stick with the one i have at least 3 or 4 years.

I change every two years, as the contracts run out. Up until recently I was supplying my wife with her mobile 'phone as a hand-me-down. This time around she has gone out and got herself an iphone 4. Good 'phone, but I don't like it as it looks too fragile.
Certainly simple to use, I have already sorted out some issues for her regarding her own 'phone. Simple stuff really, but 'phones don't seem to come with decent user manuals, even though they are getting more and more complicated to use. Or perhaps, complex would be a better word to use.
My current 'phone is the Nokia 96...In two years I still haven't got it fully worked out. In fact, only yesterday I blew out my Data plan by inadvertantly downloading an app I didn't need. It has added AU$67 to my bill when it arrives. Not a happy camper at the moment, I can tell you. Only have myself to blame for it though.

iphone 4 for me by far, it's a big step up for the iphone, starting with the amazing retina display which is simply stunning.
It has a fast processor, a very nice HD camera, a mic, a speaker, etc.
Everyone uses the phone for what he wants, I don't need all those bs apps, I do have some for sports. But I basically use the basic apps for mainly business, personal, sports. It's a very good phone for what I want it to do.
Having a macbook pro the iphone seemed a more logical choice.
I got the iphone 4 and have never looked back, great phone imho.

My friend has an HTC Desire and is also very happy with his, price is cheaper than an iphone. His only downside was the battery life, he recharges every evening, but that's almost usual practice.
