its illeale here but would love to have a ferret to chase the bunny out of the hole then put the hounds on it.

I prefer an early morning quiet stalk and shoot myself. A great way to greet the day. With out the yapping and baying of dogs to destroy the peace. Just a short quick rifle report. That's just my way, and isn't a put down on other methods.

i bow hunt for peace and quit. you would love the hound music. thats what we mainly do if for. hounds burning up a bunny at full cry. the more the better. if your ever over this way look me up and i will take you on a hound hunt. the hounds in the vids were gearing down because it was so dry. once we get some cooler damper weather they really roll. to beaglers there`s nothing better than the country side with hound music. just somthing i have done all my life and will do it till i can no longer walk. shooting a bunny is secondary to me but still pop a few for the pot.

That is something I used to do too. That is something special in itself.

I've always hunted rabbits on the jump. couple people stomping through the brush waiting for one to pop up...probably because thats how we hunt pheasant and quail without dogs. kansas is great for upland birds after all

nothing wrong with jump shooting. did it a lot when i was younger. but it`s all about the hounds to us. kiling the bunny is secondary. but don`t get me wrong love shootin them. picking up a new bunny gun today.

The last time I hunted rabbits, my wife's brother was back from afghanistan, we had 12 gauges, and his granddads farm had hundreds of rabbits. I think you all see where that headed!

A 12 gauge is so much fun, but not necessarily the best for preserving them in an edible fashion .

I never had a problem with 12ga on rabbits. perhaps its a shot size issue...I always use 7 1/2 on rabbits, 5 on pheasant, and either 6 or 7 1/2 on quail.
