My New Yixing Teapot
Bought last night with mixiang (honey scented) oolong. Already becoming my go to teapot. Extremely finely potted, made first with a mould then finished by hand (there's no other way with such a thinly potted pot), fired at an extremely high temperature (great for oolongs, not so much for pu-er) and imitation of ancient maker's mark inside of lid and to base.

And another with some poetry to the base
月下甘泉 (yue xia gan quan)
"Below the moon, a spring of sweetness"

Thanked: 11Hello,
Very nice teapots.
However, my favorite is this one:
The De Chine Tea Pot
It allows me to watch my favorite tea leaves unfurl as they steep:
Jasmine Pearls Green Tea
Thanks,
Mike

My daughter loves tea and has asked for a Yixing pot or Gaiwan for Christmas.. so today I will be going to a local specialty tea shop to see what they offer otherwise I will be ordering from Pu-erh Tea - Premium Chinese Teas - JAS eTea getting a pot from them with maybe a few teas as well.

Thanked: 235I bought this flat shaped pot a few days ago. I don't want to say how much I spent, but I did pay way too much. It is not new(I have no idea how old) and most of the tea comes out through the lid and not the spout, but I think it looks great. If you look good you can get away with more.
The second one I bought today at a local market. I haven't tried it yet but I can't wait to.

Well, definitelly we are not occidental people, spanish ones I say....jejeje....Here novody knows wath it is an yixing teapot, ad less diference into a puh er and oolong tea, neither good tea nor god coffe...jejeje...sometimes I feell that I´m the only that think in that. I´m collector of yixing pottery, no only teapots, bowls, cups and tea caddy, here you can buy a quite good pice for a misery price, people only see a sand teapot. Also we have the plus dificult to find quality tea, another handicap....is quite depressing: If you allow me I´ll sed photos of my collection, it´s nice find a place were your razors can be admired and valued and is too fairly a miracle find somebody that think that you are no crazy for collect sand teapots (purple clay is a mistery for most of spanish people) I´ll show you three of my babies, the first one is not to old, provably made of normal red sand, but not completly slip, part is handmade, is a three friends kind, and I only can red in the seal the Nian Zi of the end, the other one is purple clay, quite antique, lotus shape, the seal is fairly age-grown and the clay is a bit porous, I use it for soft teas, it gets a great flawor with white tea, and it is completly handmade, unfortunately I can not read the seal, the photo I get is treated with gimp. The third one is an wondefull kangshi teapot, arond 1700s, I do not use it but the detais odf the diferent aplyed parts are amazing. Regards
