Default Kent Hairbrushes: white or black bristle?

What's the difference and which, if any, is better?
What is the importance of the wood used in the oval miliry handles: beech, satin, satin/beech, etc?

My hair's starting to thin, and it may be time to pamper it while I have the chance!

I would guess the harder the wood the better it will stand up. Other than that it's just what you prefer. As far as bristle goes I'll tell you I have a hair brush with boar bristle-black I bought over 40 years ago (it's made in Germany marked K-WA-I) and I still have it and it looks about as good as the day I got it.
