Yeah man, got the basses covered. What do you use?
I'm primarily an upright bass player, jazz, classical, anything that pays really. It's all bass.

I play a Fender Jazz, a Ken Smith 5-string, and a Guild acoustic/electric out of a Hartke VX 3500. For the last ten years I was in a Columbus band called Bum Wealthy. Taking a break for a bit while life settles down, but still groovin...

Right on!!!!..... I would love to own an upright!!... right now im playin my Jazz bass most but I have a 1983 U.S.A. Fender Pbass I bought it new my Jbass is a 1999 mexican that I hotrodded with Lindy Fraylin pick ups hand wound to 1962 spects badass bridge Schaller tuners 500k pots pbass knobs ok ok the only mexican parts are the body and neck.... My baby is my 1981 G&L l2000e totally mint 2nd owner. When i got this thing it still had the original strings and tags on it..... Ive owned many eletric basses and the only one Ive found that can rival that G&L is a Sadowsky. I play through an old Hartke 3500 amp a Hartke 4x10 and an Ampeg 2x15. I dont play much anymore cause of my job but I still find time to play along with a Jaco tune every now and then.....Ryan

How do ya like that VX????........ I was trin to get away from Hartke cause they sound great but they are kinda whimpy on the road had to get a road case and now it weighs a ton.... Ive been trin to get ahold of a Walter Woods amp for a while. They are bout the size of a VCR tape and push 1000 watts

It sounds alright. It definitely falls on the wimpy side if I ever have to play a larger club without monitor assistance, but its okay since I don't generally play gigs where anyone "needs" earplugs. My main concern was dropping an amp off the top of the cabinet, so I went with a combo / 1-piece unit.

The Walter Woods sounds like an interesting idea. I know the VX weighs a ton too!

Does your G&L have the sunburst body?

    I try

An older Peavey Cirrus (before they started making *cheaper* Cirruses) that needs sent off. Had a guy look at, fixed one problem...didn't catch the other.

A Stingray that I bought in a pinch because of the Cirrus...and I'm loving it with Chrome flatwounds. I tried them on the Cirrus and they just never "fit" me.

A Nemesis (Edens' generic) 2x10 combo for monitor...all I've ever had so can't compare it really.

If money ever frees up I really want to try some different pre-amp and get some very mild comression/sustain that would could work.

I just play at church...but it's likely different than what comes to mind for "church music" to most people.

We don't necassarily do these, but it's the idea/style.

And since I'm actually a fan of slower stuff...both as the musician and worshipper we've worked on this on but have yet to play it in a service. My own stuff tend to lean this route...albeit...not as good!
It builds for the whole song, but labor through (or fastforawd) to the 6:00 mark.

It's those songs that make me want to play around with signal manipulators like comp/sus.

Absolutely love that last song from every perspective. But, music is music and preferences for it vary more than soaps, stones and strops!

Hello....I don't play much anymore, but I played covers in many clubs for years in the NW Ohio/Michigan area. Turned down a few road gigs, didn't want to be away from home. I had many basses but I been playing a 1985 Carvin that I bought new. At that time, Carvin had a bass body but I special ordered mine with the guitar body, which they have been using for years now. It comes with Schaller keys, brass nut, brass bridge, 2 double-wound humbucker pickups w/selector switch and out of phase (discreet?) switch, which I never found much use for. Came with glued-on neck, wired in stereo. No pre-amps or neck-thru-body in those days. Rock maple body w/clear finish. Like the other guiy said, I'd rather have just 1 bass that can do it all.
I would like to try a Warwick bass...heard a couple played in Florida and they seem to have a HUGE sound....gonna check them out soon.
