W0w!!
I want a flintlock so bad!!! I love the simplicity of it! The history! If only I was close to an outdoor range. A drawback to living in the burbs.....
I also lust after the 1858 remington new army. Still a great pistol after all these years.

while i dont have a firearm ive been thinking about getting one for some practice shooting and home defense.
I dont know if its possible to get the Beretta 90two here in canada but i do like the look and sound of it.
Does anyone have experience with this specific firearm?
90two Type F, G
Or maybe you would recommend something else for a beginner in the world of firearms?Shaving_story on Instagram

IME Beretta makes a good gun but the triggers are not to my liking. Although it is as ugly as sin dipped in misery if I only had one gun for all around shooting and self defense it would be my Glock 23 in .40 S&W caliber. A Glock 17 in 9mm is also quite good with the 17 round magazines and 9mm is much cheaper than .40. I'm sure others will have recommendations.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I don't care much for the Beretta either, mainly because it doesn't fit my hand.
I like the Glock 17 also and the 9mm is less expensive to practice with. For social defense 9mm will work fine.
I like the Ruger SR9 even better because it fits my hand very well, the grip being very similar to the 1911.
It's generally easier to shoot well if the gun you choose fits your hand. Try several out, if possible, before you buy.

That's essentially a civilian version of the M9, the "new" (since 1985) US service pistol. In Desert Storm, most regular Marines who were issued a side arm had one of these. They envied the Reservists who still had M1911A1s.
Granted, home defense and the battlefield are two different things, but stopping an opponent is the same. My advice is to go with a .45 in a handgun that you can handle safely and shoot accurately.I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

I would second JimmyHAD's suggestion for the Glock in .40 or 9mm. The compact models (like the G23) are easier to carry concealed if that was your aim. They are simple to take down and clean, pretty reliable, and light.
Also as suggested, practice, practice, practice. The trigger on any gun takes getting used to. Once you learn the basics of stance, hold, sighting, and trigger pull, you can get some snap caps and dry fire a whole lot to get your basics ingrained. Of course, it's more fun to practice live firing at the range!

Thanks for the info guys.
The glock was something I was actually looking at also.
I liked the idea of the b90 because it seemed to have a better safety lock on it. But then again I haven't handled either of them so would be difficult to say so myself.
If anyone is located in Toronto or in Canada for that matter maybe send me a message would love to ask plenty more.Shaving_story on Instagram
