Best Places to get your Beer of the Day
For the benefit of our fequent and infrequent beer drinking travelers (does fequent qualify the drinking or travelling...no matter) share the name and location of that special pub, restaurant, brew house, bar that offers great beers, variety, ambiance, food....you name it and tell us why its on your list.
For starters try the Sunset Grill and Tap, 130 Brighton Ave, Allston (Boston) MA. 617-254-1331. I'm in Boston for a son's last college conference meet. Swim meets offer hours free time between preliminary heats and finals and that's when the spouse and I look for a great beer. This place is tits. A hundred drafts and many times the bottle offerings; all listed in an updated menu with listings categorized by style. I had a burger (very good) with a Founders Imperial Stout (super)10.5% al. The Extreme Beerfest Weekend approaches where the Sunset will host Dogfish head brewer Sam Caligione (you may have seen him on Discovery Channel or a food network recently). You Bostonites should check it out (not sure of date).
In my hometown, Harrisburg PA, check out Troegs brewery. Great tasting room. Bring or buy a growler for the road. Troegs outgrew its present brewery and will be moving to nearby Hershey soon.
What's your favorite place. Thanks

I do not think there's much sense for me to give you any addresses as we seem to be on a different continent. There are so many fine beer houses i've been in Europe.
Whenever i travel i try to find if there's any local breweries that also sell beer directly into tables. Usually they are very fine and interesting goodies, and there's no much risk to get any main stream lager.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 5In Greater Lafayette, Indiana area, my two favorites are:
Chumley's
122 North 3rd Street
The Black Sparrow
223 Main Street
I like Lafayette bars because they tend to have fewer undergrads and they aren't dance clubs. Chumley's has over 50 beers on draught and the Sparrow has a great vibe and live music.
