My half-Irish, half-Scottish MIL made some awesome potato soup today! Does that count?

Just got done with a regal dinner of corned beef with cabbage and potatoes in the lovely company of my MIL, who provided the recipe, and my better half, who did the cooking.

I'm settling with a Lucky Strike and an Anchor Extra IPA.

Best part of St. Valentine's day is to hear my MIL, an octogenarian born in Italy, say with a heavy Italian accent "A-Once a year I ama Irishe!" as we break bread, and tell the story how she got the recipe from Ellen Gillmartin, who got it from her great grandmother (it goes on for another 15 minutes, and gets better every year). It warms the c0ckles of your heart.

Gentlemen, life is indeed very good! May it go on forever!
