Unhappy I lost the BDC Dial on an old Bushnell Banner. Now what?

Greetings from rainy Minnesota! A few months ago, I was sighting in my 30.06 at some long distances. Being the putz that I am at times, I dropped the BDC (bullet drop compensation) dial somewhere in the field while making my adjustments. I brought the scope into a few places and they both told me to send it into Bushnell. I did that, and just got an email back from Bushnell yesterday, saying that they can replace my discontinued scope with a newer model. All I want is a new BDC Dial! It should only be a few dollar part, but I guess they can't match one to my old scope. If anyone is a real scope buff and needs specifics, it's an old school Bushnell Banner 3x9x32 made in Japan. Anyways... this whole deal is really a bummer, and it's my own fault. I suppose that I could possibly find the dial somewhere online, or manage without it. Perhaps it's just time to get a new scope. If that's the case... does anyone have a recommendation for a scope that will be primarily used to shoot whitetails, and of course the future elk and caribou hunts that are in my distant future? Advice is much appreciated!

    What's your budget range?

If it were mine, I'd ditch the Bushnell and not look back.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Try Gary Thiry Parts Dist. Sacramento, Ca. (916) 334-2512. I have found many obsolete parts for firearms there over the years. Better yet take HNSB advice and upgrade.

Go a midget over that to a nikon and you won't look back. You. Might even be able to pick one up on sale for less. I'm a huge fan of Cabellas bargain cave after holidays. I've gotten some sweet deals in there and most stuff carries the mfr warranty so at the first sign of trouble, send it out.
I do like my little BSA sweet .22 but I've never used anything larger of theirs. It's dense cover around here so I either use a .41 or .357 mag w/iron sights or my .30-30 with a 2x red dot.

    Cool

Cabela's Bargain Cave is sweet! I picked up a set of duck hunting waders there not too long ago.
