Thanks Sasha ....hey to anybody that's into this.I use a really good organic farmers rye bread that I get at King Soopers. There are no preservatives and it's pure Rye no wheat.I also don't use Rye with caraway seeds..not especially conducive to the flavour .Make sure your Rye is pure and natural..the real deal !

I get mine from a Russian grocery store. They make their own, bottle in jars, and sell by the liter. Barely more expensive than water for the same amount, more refreshing, slightly boozy, and good for the belly (yum! bacterias!).

    Feels like drinking bread, though.

The company I work for employs lots of Ukranians and Poles. Kvas is a common lunchtime refreshment. The stuff I have sampled is the store bought variety but I found the taste quite reminiscent of a very stout European dark beer, specifically Guiness, but just a tad less carbonated very good, very refreshing. I would say nearly as good as a cold beer on a hot day.
The older I get, the better I was

I would say that it's even better beer ... Especially if you're in a car ...

Im not a big fan of the raisins but adding mint as called for in some receipts does sound good.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

    Raisins are not mandatory ingredient.
