Pipe Tobacco Review Thread
Howdy all,
This thread was an idea that Sailor mentioned and I thought I would help start it.
There have been many new pipe smokers recently and they all seem to ask which tobacco I should get, or which is this best one?
In this thread I think all lovers of the leaf should post a review of a pipe tobacco they have tried, so that all pipe smokers can look to see what they might be interested in trying out next.
Of course the more reviews the better so if you have a review for one that might be already reviewed that's OK! Different people might think one tobacco was great while others don't.
So better get to smoking guys so that we can get those reviews in!Shaving_story on Instagram

I certainly don't think this is a bad idea, but I do want to point out there are some great review resources out there already. I personally tend to use TobaccoReviews.com - The largest collection of pipe tobacco reviews on the internet

True I completely forgot about that site.
This may be biased tho but I'd rather listen to what people have to say on here
I'd like to hear the reviews or opinions of people I actually know. I mean we have such a close knit community here I'm sure we'd value the review you or someone else would write compared to a total strangers.
That being said it's just all a thought. It all depends on if we here are willing to do this.Shaving_story on Instagram

I began my pipe smoking following in my father's footsteps with his default tobacco, Half & Half. I smoked that exclusively, as he did, for years. When I began using the internet in 1998 I participated on a board called alt.smokers.pipes. Broadened my horizons and began experimenting with Dunhill 965, Early Morning Pipe, and Nightcap. I gave up the Half & Half upon discovering Gawith & Hoggarth Rum Flake.
This had been my mainstay for years until G.L. Pease Robusto came along. I still smoke the Rum Flake but Robusto has become my most smoked all day tobacco. I also smoke G.L. Pease Blackpoint on a regular basis. I am not one of those who can describe flavors and aromas so this isn't much of review. If the fore mentioned info is of any interest to anyone go to the tobacco review site mentioned by holli4pirating to get the details on "overtones of chocolate" and all that jazz.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

TobaccoReviews is an excellent site if you want to know about what mixtures are used in certain blends. However i would recommend to read the actual reviews with most critical eye. Sometimes i've thought that at least some persons have not even tasted the blend they are writing reviews about. Takes a little time and effort until you learn to know the persons who know what they are writing about.
Instead it is most enjoyable to read peoples opinions on different tobaccos, even if i know that there are blends that i will never have the change to try. Not all the reviews have to be dead serious. They might be even funny sometimes. Just personal impressions and thoughts.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'
