So much in common; I'm 60 and act like I'm 16 some days. Gotta stay connected to today's youts.

If that was a My Cousin Vinny quote I tip my hat to you.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

I shave with straights, collected smoking pipes and now smoke cigars. Hmmmmmmm. Maybe there is a connection although I drink Single Barrel Bourbons.

For me it's always the path less travelled. Straights, pipes. When I learned how to fly, it was helos I was really interested in. Now that I'm into boating, it's sailing, not motorboats. Violin, sure why not. Sometimes it was cool stuff and sometimes pure nerd. Heck,, I played D and D with the best of 'em. I think it's a just deep seeded need to be different.

I definately think it might be a need to be different (as well as a love of the old ways of living). I do a lot of things to be different (as well as for the love of it), but I don't go out of the way to stand out from a crowd...Unfortunately doing things different to others does tend to put you in the lime-light sometimes. Things as simple as smoking a pipe in public draw attention to you (well me anyway ). Heck, I wonder what people would think if I chose to shave in public...Might be arrested I reckon.

There is definitely something to it. I had the exact conclusion over a year ago:

I understand entirely. I write with fountain pens in Spencerian Script, I still write letters, I am delving into straight razors, I am an adamant practitioner of Bushcraft (Gotta love a well made Axe!), I am an active shooter who takes pride in marksmanship and historical rifles. My friends call me "Victorian." I love that compliment!
