    Default Estate pipes

One of the people I deliver to told me her husband has recently quit smoking and would like to sell his collection of pipes. Apparently, it consists of almost 100 of them. Mainly ones that he wouldn't have cared too much if they were lost or broken, but some really nice pieces.

My question, where can I direct him to sell them? I know he has some Savanelli's and a Preben Holms or two. I asked him to put together a list for me and I would find out where to post them.

Told the gentleman I would like one, but just an inexpensive one for my own use.

    Thanks for your help.

ebay is about the best bet AFAIK.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Didn't know if there was a site that pipe collectors bought and sold on. Besides ebay.

There are a couple of online vendors who might give you 50% .... last I heard.... of what they sell it for .... if it is a high grade pipe. Run of the mill stuff they won't even bother with. Maybe a dedicated pipe forum may have a BST within it once you meet member requirements. I've bought and sold pipes on ebay for years. If it is a good pipe in good or better shape you will probably do as well there as anywhere.

Thanks guys. He sent some pictures and there are some beautiful pieces. So far only sent ten pictures.
Bastilla, GBD, Ben Wade, a Joby Stromboli, and an unsmoked Kaywoodie. The Stromboli is the one I fell in love with.

I may end up putting them on ebay for him as he is a bit technologically impaired.

Yes, you have my undivided attention. Old school NOS or one of those new school Kaywoodies?

Hope this works. Been a while since I posted a picture. This is the Kaywoodie he has. I'll ask and get more info.

I'm a member of pipesmagazine.com, estate pipes tend to sell quickly there. Create an account and post pictures, I'm sure they'd sell.

Most estate sellers post a picture of 6 - 8 pipes at once and describe them.
