At ease gentlemen.
This thread is for folks to talk about watches without regard to price or pedigree.
All FRIENDLY discussions are welcome and all watches will be respected.
Let's put this thread back on the rails.
I am extraordinarily picky with things that I purchase/own. I research them until I'm contemplating my purchase in my sleep. I wanted a watch for time keeping, as I have never been early to anything except my own birth. I had simple (to me) requirements. 1) No digital displays 2) Smaller size, I have small wrists and hate things on my wrist 3) an alarm for travel, my phones have been unreliable with international time keeping and this is the major reason for a watch. This time, I left it to my parents. I was spending too much time waffling and researching on my decision. This all happened late last year, I wanted to wait to see how the quality was before I even posted and so far this watch has been treating me right, except for one weird issue.

See that black, sorta plastic-y, watch band? It. Smells. Weird. And not in a plastic or rubber-y scent. It smells like candy. It kinda changes, maybe with heat or moisture, from a chocolate to a sweet vanilla scent (to me). It has dissipated over time, but still there. Kinda smells like hot cocoa at the moment.... Must have a scratch resistant glass, because I have banged this bad boy on corners and walls from here to Germany and still looks good. I think I might as for one in a different style for every Christmas until I have one for every situation and wardrobe combination.
That is a very common issue. For some reason they infuse a vanilla scent on these rubber type straps and that includes some high end ones too. I don't like it either.
They do sell replacements without the scent.
Here is my collection

Always been a Omega fiend the Speedmaster was my first, since orange is my favorite color, the orange crocodile strap Sea Master fit the bill. But the copper faced Baume just spoke to me, and it said "I must be yours"
One for the pocket watch people. The Vacheron Constantin reference 57260. You better have deep pockets in more ways than one.
