Any boxing fans? Mayweather vs. Ortiz.
Are there boxing fans among us who gonna watch Mayweather on Saturday? I'm preparing myself already, can't wait for the event. Watched all the Gatti vs. Ward fights again (for the 15-th time probably) just to know what we're not going to see on Saturday.
I'm expecting a very solid Mayweather win, but I'd be glad to be wrong. Really don't like the guy.
What do you guys think?

I Didn't get to see it. But I watched the highlights. People are crying foul for Jr's 'cheap shot'. Ortiz should have kept his hands up. I don't like bad attitudes, esp Mayweather's. But I think Larry Merchant sucks too.

I really don't get it. There was no break, so Mayweather's punch was perfectly legal. I understand that Floyd was pissed off after the (intentional) headbutt. Joe Cortez' was just super strange. I don't like Floyd, but I can't blame him for that. Yep, Larry Merchant is not exactly professional, but I think PBF needs to stop taking it all so personal. It's quite easy to shut up Merchant, no need for what Mayweather did imo. Do you think there will be a rematch?

I cant stand him either. If he was such a bad man,why doesn't he move up in weight and challenge himself, like James Lights out Toney, now he was a FIGHTER. Mickey Ward acts the way a champion should act.

Mayweather is all about his record with no losses. He's not gonna challenge himself as long as he's making good money with what he's doing. I just don't see the passion in him. Micky Ward is a great guy and his fights with Gatti are legendary. I'm goinig to get "Thunder" tattooed sometime just to pay tribute to Gatti and alwayw remember, what dedication means
. Many people just don't get that being unbeaten doesn't make him the best of all times. Ali has lost fights, Jones Jr., Sugar Ray Robinson (had 10 fights per year), Leonard, Tyson, Hearns...Pacquiao. I hate how people try to use this argument to prove how Floyd is better than Pacquiao. I hope this fight is going to happen even if it might get delayed again because, oh well, Mayweather and Ortiz might have a rematch and Floyd is only gonna fight once a year. You're right, this is not a champion's behavior.

Maybe no one will beat him,but i will be watching when father time gets his hands on him. All fighters cannot just walk away, and when floyd is old and broke and comes back for one more fight,i will be front and center to watch someone knock him into next week, and i wont feel bad for the oldman!!!!

I don't think Floyd will ever be broke, his advisors are just too good, but he will get knocked out and he will lose. He won't go undefeated. Looking forward to the other fights this year. Pacquiao vs. Marquez, Hopkins vs. Dawson, Cotto vs. Margarito...oh yeah, Holyfield is also (still) fighting. Sad to see the old fighters go, but we don't wanna see another Larry Holmes.

I think boxing is great BUT,i does not have the appeal anymore. Who the hell is the heavy weight champ? Does anyone care? I grew up watching fights in the 70's and 80's,now those were the days. The best fight i watched on TV was Ali vs George Foreman !!! They had fought all the same fighters. Frazier beat Ali and the other 2 fights went into late rounds, Ken Norton went the distance with Ali, and George Foreman Dusted both Frazier and Norton. I thought Ali was a dead man walking when he stepped into the ring with Foreman. What a fight!!!!! Hagler,Hearns,Duran,Leonard to name a few

My grandpa used to like to watch feather weight fights, just because they were more active. He didn't live long enough to watch MMA, but I'm sure he would have loved it, for better or for worse.
When I was a kid, we had some great fighters, like Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, and Michael Spinks.
Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis are fighters and gentlemen, though, top notch men.

You are right. The heavy-weight is pretty much dead. The major belts are held by the Klitschko brothers and the fights are just a disgrace. Can't blame these two for it, there not enough good boxers in the division. The attention shifted to lighter weights. Pacquiao is one hell of a fighter and a very sincere and humble man. I really enjoy watching him right now. Sugar Ray Leonard is also among my favorites, he was...well...fast. Very fast. It the 2000's Gatti and Ward blessed us with 3 epic battles and I often find myself watching the old stuff on youtube.
The Ali vs. Foreman battle was great! Ali just made George punch himself out. Btw. I met Big George once at his grill presentation. A very nice guy.
