I've had 'em and they're pretty cool. Thing about 'em is you have to buy long pipe cleaners. Also, IME, draw easy, easier than if it is a normal length stem. Maybe it was my imagination or maybe not, but it seemed like the extra length kind of compounded the draw. To where a regular draw would lead to a hot pipe quick. I had to take it real easy. Could've just been the pipes though.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Carl Weber was a pipemaker in the Newark, NJ area IIRC. He made good pipes. Reasonably priced but a bit heavy IME. Good though. He wrote a couple of pipe smokers books that helped me get started. I don't have any now but I have had some of his pipes at one time or another.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

My first pipe was a Weber with an oval bowl. My father gave it to me when I was 14 years old.

Did a google and came up with this here. He was in Jersey City, not Newark.
