Thanked: 1185My Bride is a Godess!
So it had been a good long time since my last beer. At work I was thinking to myself that it would be the bee's knee's if I got home from work and my bride had stocked the refrigerator with an ample supply of Michelob Amberbock. In the interest of expectation management however, I quckly jumped in with, "Well, to be honest, I'd be stoked with any cold beer." Well I arrived at Casa GI after a long week at work and guess what, in the fridge was a 12 pack of Michelob Amberbock Dark Lager. Not only can she read my mind, she's quite a fetching specimen who has aged much more gracefully than I. When we're out in public together, I imagine people thinking, "Look at that dirty old man with a wife half his age! In reality, she's 2 years older than me and still occassionally gets carded for cigarettes.
The older I get, the better I was

GI, that's what it is about!
No, not that the Mrs. has cold beers in the fridge for you, but the way you talk about her.
I do believe that is called loveBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 1185Yeah, she's a bit of alright, I'm pretty sure I'd be hard pressed to find another woman of her quality that would live with me for nearly 30 years.

Thanked: 1587I like that after 30 years you still call her 'my bride'. In my head I am still 16 and meeting my wife for the first time whenever I see her. Not that I married at 16, mind you.
Here's to another 30 years for you two!!

Good for you. I have to mirror everyone else's comments, as I am perhaps as fortunate as you. Although my better half and I have only been together for 4 1/2 years, she is all I could ever ask for. We started dating while taking care of a mutual friend who was dying of cancer. She took care of him better than a nurse would have. My goal in life is to die in her arms.

Thanked: 198+100 and that is what i hope to get in years out of my marriage, we have our ups and downs, but i still look at her the same way. and old GI, you have to admit, it is sometimes difficult to find a wife that will put up with us old military salts, mine has done well. and believe me, she gives as good as she gets when it comes to the down times, lol

Does she know this?
I'm just curious, because when I voiced a similar sentiment to my wife of 30 years she wasn't exactly thrilled. Actually I think she said something along the lines of "if you die on me I'll dig you up and kill you, you bastard!"
Gawd, I love that woman!

Thanked: 1185A bit off topic and kind of random but I heard this song and decided that on our 30th Anniversary (16 April 2013), my bride and I will dance to this song.
