My dad was one of the first. He started out shooting but retired when I was born and just worked a few meets after that.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

One of these days, I'd like to get started with IPSC.

Do it, tons of fun. You can get crazy with all the equipment but that's really not necessary. Just a simple 9mm, a holster and some magazine pouches and you're good to go for "Production" division.

Thanked: 90I liked shooting Steel Challenge matches, they were a lot more economical. They're also very fun.

Thanked: 7Im thinking about running some mixed steel matches at my local range. I dont own any auto pistols but I figure I can run pistol portions slowly with my wheel gun and make up time with the scatter gun!
For anyone interested im running a S&W M36 3" and a Remington 870

I spent two of the last three Saturdays on the range, shooting IPSC.
I'm one of the few that uses a duty holster, not a dedicated IPSC rig.
And of course a single-stack 1911, instead of a racegun.
Yes, I had a good time

Thanked: 2I run production class with SIG Sauer P226. Don't get caught up with the equipment too much....you're better off spending money on proper training.
