    Default Goodies from Guatemala

My in-laws are here for a visit from Guatemala City, and also to see some of the doctors locally for various age-related issues. As they often do, they brought me some Guatemalan "homegrown" coffee from a friend of theirs who owns several fincas. It's a nice, rich coffee that I make special on the weekends. Even better, they brought me a bottle of Ron Zacapa Centenario 23. Those of you who have had it know how rich and sweet this special rum is. And though I'm normally more of a scotch/bourbon guy, I'm enjoying a first snifter this evening. Undoubtedly, it will be enjoyed much more this weekend, as family flies in from all points for a reunion/barbecue/bonfire celebration. One brother-in-law is flying in from PA, and the sister-in-law has already come from the Netherlands (with some nice cheese and tulips bulbs!).

As we live in Upstate SC, maybe I should get them some boiled peanuts and Blenheim's ginger ale.
There are many roads to sharp.
