Balvenie, 14 finished in Carribean Rum Casks.
Picked up a bottle of The Balvenie, 14 finished in Caribbean Rum Casks. It was not really expensive as other scotch finished in Rum Casks, about $55.00. My favorite Scotch is Glenfiddich 21, finished in rum casks but it is much more expensive, 2-3 times as much.
This scotch was very nice. Smooth with a hint of vanilla and a nice short sweetness. I highly recommend it for the price.
Enjoy.

Agreed, good sir. The Caribbean Cask 14 is a tasty single-malt; a little spicier than the Balvenie's 12-year (doublewood) or 15-year (single barrel). If you really want a treat, give their 21-year Portwood a go. Finished off in port wine tubes, it's some of the smoothest stuff out there (IMHO).

I got a bottle of the Golden Cask - which is available in European Duty Free ONLY *grrr* and it too is finished in rum casks. I shared it with my half-marathon running group after our last race in October, and even the non-scotch drinkers among us enjoyed it. If you are in Europe and can get to a duty free, this is an excellent scotch.
