Thanked: 198turkish coffee
well i think i truely made that one mistake in life you will have to livewith forever. I introduced my 14 yo daughter to turkish coffee. i may have given up the coffee, but my 2 daughters still drink it, well i was given some turkish roast and ground a while back, and i havent used it. My daughter has been drinking it brewing it the normal method, but today i broke out my small ibrik, and made her some the traditional method, well she loved it. now im in trouble.

You didn't do too bad a thing, it wasn't Turkish tobacco (that stuff had me hooked for 14 years). I have two sons 16,21 I have to split a pot of DARK coffee with both of them and then at night have to split my Scotch, Spiced rum, or Ukon Jack with the older one. Both the coffee and spirits are my doing, so my borther I fell your pain

God I love Turkish coffee!
I will seek out Mediterranean restaurants and cafes just to take care of my "fix". Now, do you drink it the traditional way with sugar or not?

Thanked: 198i made it with sugar, actually the method was 4 rounded teaspoons of grounds, 4 teaspoons of sugar, and about 4 to 5 oz of water. sloooowly boiled on the stove in the ibrik 3 times then poured into her cup.

Take her to Earth & Tea cafe. They have 30+ teas in stock and they make amazing Turkish coffee.

I like a good strong tea as well and if you don't mind store teas go to engliishteastore.com and try the Scottish Breakfast tea from Taylors of Harrogate's very earthy smokey flavor.

Thanked: 90At least your kids will have good taste and adventurous palates when they're adults.
I like my turkish coffee without sugar. Eliette will often make it with some cardamom, which is a nice change-up every now and then.
