Default It's getting cold and I need an outdoor heater (patio)!

    Gentleman!

I've been on and off lurking/posting for a bit, but now i'm in a bit of a conundrum. I live up in Boston, and have to enjoy my pipe (/occasional cigar) outside (due to lease stipulations and such). I have a lovely little screened in patio that has been home for the last few months, but the temperature is starting to drop. What do you guys know about heating those kinds of patios. I've been thinking about buying a portable propane patio heater(I feel more comfortable paying for my propane rather than splitting the electricity with my roommates) , but I'm not sure what size i should be looking out to squeeze out the mild days of winter, and most days of fall that are left.

For reference, the porch size is probably 15 feet by 8 feet by 8 feet high or so (off the cuff, as i am not at home to measure!).

Where should i be looking? What should i be looking for? Anyone else do this?

    Thanks for the help guys!

Depending on your budget, ideas and flexibility there are many options. Two of my favorites are the upright patio heaters that are common in nicer department stores, but they do heat a larger area and tend to be costly; my second choice would be the electric dish heater available at costco. It is a more direct heat so less is wasted, but again it is electric. There is always the standard propane camping heaters that give a slightly less focused heat, are less expensive and choice energy source, but I don't find them as efficient. Mind you, others may experience differently.

For the price of heating that you could buy your own place.

Buy a good coat or quit smoking. :-]

Or...buy a good coat and have a scotch neat with said cigar/pipe and you'll be fine.

Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???
