Need a Computer Geek...adding wireless to my wired home network
I realize that having a wired home network makes me a geek especially because I wired the thing, but I am wondering if anyone has added wireless to thier home network (it's not as easy as it I thought) and which router is the best to use.
My home is older and made of concrete blocks that were then threaded with rebar and then filled in with cement. I guess the owners back in 1937 didn't want a hurricane blowing it down so easily. They succeeded... it's like a fortress and from Andrew to Wilma to Katrina it's laughed off damage.
However... I live in a Faraday cage so cell phones, wireless phones and of course, wireless internet routers have about 1/10th the strength in the house. So... two questions:
How do I modify a router to be a "wireless node" on my wired system, AND is there one that's better than another for signal strength?
