Master of The Electric Violin
The violin/fiddle has always been my instrument of choice and I have owned my Electric Violin for over 20 years, but I can only wish I could bring out the awesome capabilities of instrument the way that this guy can. He has a lot of songs on Youtube if you simply google his name.

Have you ever seen Emilie Autumn? Pretty cool.

The way Ed makes use of stomp boxes and loops to build a complete piece including rhythm and lead combining strumming and bowing technique, and the ease at which he pulls all this off live is amazing. Although Emily shows some real talent, I don't think she demonstrates potential of the instrument itself. Most of what I hear her play sounds like it could be played with an acoustic violin.
Even Michael Shulman who plays the NY subways demonstrates more potential of the instrument than Emily.

Thanked: 2yeah Emilie Autumn is just fantastic.
I play an accoustic violin but I've rigged up a shaddow nanoflex pick-up under the bridge, lets me run all kinds of fun effects.
I know the debate rages about quality of this and that effect, personally I use a couple of multi-effect pedals piggy backed off one another.
I also have a cool little jam-man loop pedal which is just awesome fun especially if like me, you do most of your playing alone.
I run it all through a tiny little five watt valve amp which gives the whole thing a really nice warm, clean tone.
Fun to be had
