    Please give him my complements!

Possibly a bit contentious this one, but some fine playing regardless, Steffen & Jane.

Any of you gents heard of The Steel Wheels. Some fellows in my area who are taking off. They do a lot of traditional bluegrass as well as modern stuff. They actually won an award this past year from an independent music association.
Of you like powerful voices, amazing musicianship (is that even a word?) and sweet harmony, these guys are up your alley.

these guys are friends of mine from high school, this band has been together ever since we were seniors, and has gone thru many changes since then, but they still get it done, and that comes from a stump jumper.

Here's two videos I shot on Friday night with my G10.
They're a Bluegrass/Americana/Roots/Jam band. One of the songs sounds like an old Spiritual and the other is a bit of an Americana/Roots blend with a bit of bluegrass running through it.

    Theseus,
Thanks for including that one... it's a good tune.

And thanks much to GI for starting the thread. I may be a "city-feller" now, but lived in East Tennessee from '86-'95 and absolutely love bluegrass music. We used to drive up to Gatlinburg, TN to listen to the local bands when I was in high school.

This might meet with some resistance on this thread, but I'm a big fan of how Bela Fleck is pushing forward and experimenting with new ways to incorporate bluegrass into jazz and fusion music. If you've listen to his albums "Tales from the Acoustic Planet" and "Tales II: The Bluegrass Sessions", he shows that he has some serious traditional chops, but I like the updated, jazz sound as well...
