Captain Black White.
Second choice is Captain Black Blue
It's also VERY good mixed with a little greenery, if you get my drift.

I like any of the geezer burleys, especially Granger, and if I want something sweet occasionaly then it's Sugar Barrel.

Thanked: 0I"m partial to Capt. Black White. My wife likes me to smoke Capt. Black Red. A lot of the times, I mix the two. (One third Red; two thirds white). That gives me the flavor and her the aroma. I've never had a problem with any of the Capt. Blacks biting my tongue. Some one (and I don't remember who) taught me that with the aromatics, you have to pack your pipe loosely to avoid the bite. (Looser than say the way I pack my Istanbul blend.)

Thanked: 1185Ah yes, Big N Burley, I have 6-8 ounces in a jar and you're quite right, the vitamin N content is off the chain, you definitely know you're smoking something. After a couple bowls of this stuff I can generally hear my beard growing and have a very hard time sitting still or going to sleep. It really is the perfect breakfast smoke.
I've always been curious about Condor. I think this is the British counterpart of our (U.S.) Codger Burlies (i.e. been around forever and most pipe smokers either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it.) Unfortunately, I can't seem to locate Condor on this side of the pond. Brilliant commercials though

Smokers Pride Black Cavendish for me.
It's super cheap at about 11 or 12 bucks a pound bag (15ozs.) Cons are: it's very mild and if you're used to stronger, there is a tendency to puff too hard/fast (especially if you have a nicotine jones). Second, like most drugstore tobaccos, it's loaded with propylene glycol and smokes wet.
Taste is sweet and nutty with notes of vanilla.
If you add some latakia and burley, it's actually a quite good base for blending and can satisfy the nicotine need without having to puff like a madman.
