What's everyone's opinions on the ruger LCR vs s&w 60? I'm looking at a snub in .357 for iwb and ankle carry. I know it's not the best position but its all I'm allowed at work. Any other snubs I should look for. I'd prefer a .357 for the option to shoot .357, 38+p or 38.
i dont have my CCW, but i plan on getting it soon. i currently own a full sized tank (Ruger P95). im planning on a Glock 19 next, then im gonna sell my ruger to help fund my stripped lower build.
we recently had Lonestar Handgun offer free classes to school employees, i promptly signed up both my folks and sent them with my Ruger and my ammo to the class. my dad is now looking at a G19, and my mom likes one of the Beretta compacts.

Are you sure you mean a 60? You'd be hard pressed to ankle carry a 60. I would look at a 442 if there was any chance it was going to ride in an ankle holster.
There are light .357s, but the LCR would be a better choice than a scandium S/W simply because of the price.
In a short barrel a 357 is really just a fireball simulator, the bullet loses a little velocity and doesn't really perform like a 357 should.
Ditto on this. The .357 is larger and no more effective in a snub nose. I have a Ruger LCR with CTL in .38spl. It is very light and concealable. Easy to shoot. If carrying for protection do not buy hollow points for it as they are actually less effective in FBI testing than wadcutters. The only draw back to the LCR is the trigger reset is very long compared to an auto (Glock) and if you shoot a lot of semi you may short stroke the LCR. Nothing practice and training cannot overcome.Quote:

You'll have to just check them out for yourself. Ankle carry requires a light gun. I'm a big fan of the 442 and the 637. I don't typically ankle carry.
A 640, carried in another fashion is great and handles 357 mag really well. Handguns are personal choices.
For ankle carry you need an Airweight or Scandium gun, I think.
