Thanked: 25Im going to agree with wrxguy on this one, a good belt is an absolute necessity for comfortably carrying a large frame gun. I used to always buy cheapo Wal-Mart belts and when I carried small from sub-compact firearms, those cheap belts would work just fine, but when I moved to large frame guns, I was burning through belts about every 6 months or so. The leather was just too thin and flimsy and wouldnt hold the weight without deforming and falling apart. Right now, Im on a Columbia sportswear leather belt that I picked up at Academy. Its not a gun belt so only time will tell on how long it lasts for its current task, but I'll tell you, Im several months in on this belt and so far its not showing any signs of deformation or wear from having a firearm hanging from it.
Not only does a good belt help keep a large frame gun secure on your body, it also helps distribute the weight around your waist and helps reduce muscle fatigue. If you've ever carried something like a full size steel framed 1911 all day with a bad belt, you'll know exactly what Im talking about. It will legitimately make your lower back hurt, usually on the opposite side of where you carry. So you can begin to see why a good belt is so important.

Speaking of belts, here is a stock photo I copied off of the website. If you can wear your shirt tail out this is a very convenient carry belt. I use it with one or another 380s I have. A friend who introduced me to it carries a Kimber 45 with his. Beltster, concealed carry holsters, colt handguns, glock handguns, leather gun holsters
I recently picked up a Glock G-27, the small size .40 S&W caliber. Great gun and has become my daily driver.

Thanked: 1936Thanks Jimmy, Checking out that belt set-up. May pick up one as we can open carry if we want so a barrel flash is ok obviously. That G27 will serve you well, I bought my wife a G26 (same size as yours, just 9mm) several years ago new and it's a nice shooter. It's got some carry wear, but still shoots like it did on day one. They are like a AK-47, may not be pretty, but will take care of business & the abuse a weapon receives from carry.
