In America, snooker has been overshadowed by 9 ball, 8 ball, and straight pool. All I've every done on the snooker table was play 8 ball with standard balls in order to practice my aim. Snooker tables are great for that - when you go back to a 9 foot table, all shots seem so much closer and easier.
