I live in Chicago, drive every day, have driven in Central,PA a lot and TOTALLY AGREE!! Apocalypse now is right!!! Even where if you add the smallest amount of snow or rain and Chicago turns in to 13 year olds that stole mommy and daddy's car for a drive (not that I ever did that) GL and congrats on passing!

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 3I quite like the advice of "Always think everyone else is trying to kill you." No truer words have been said about driving. You're sitting in a 1.5 ton frame of steel. Pay attention, keep a cool, clear head, and don't think you're hot stuff. The cops love knocking teens down a few pegs (I know quite well... ) Driving is like shaving. Having a well-honed tool is only part of the equation. The rest is technique.
Seriously though, congrats!!

Thanked: 2027I grew up in rural Oregon, lots of horses, on lots of backroads when I was learning to drive.
The law even back in the day was: honk a horn,or as the driver of a moter vehical of any sort, spook a horse, you lose your license, please be very carefull sharing the road with animals.

Do a "head check" when changing lanes. Don't rely 100% on your mirrors.

Ironically I read that yesterday 4 amish teens were arrested for illegal possession and consumption of alcohol after they recked their buggy into a cop car in (dont quote me on this) PA. Just reminded me of your story. Remember always drive like everyone else is trying to kill you.
PS take it from someone who had a few before graduating, mind the law. Tickets are a pain, and the prices are going up in most states fast.No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

Thanked: 884Try driving in DFW when the ice and snow are on the ground.
I was one of the poor bums running a snowplow/sand truck last year during the superbowl fiasco in Arlington (Dallas). I was working the Fort Worth side of the mess until the Dallas crews got buried and they sent us over into Dallas County to bail the poor bastards out. What a train wreck that was. LOL
