I'll say you even share that with us in Thunder Bay. Enough already.

Yep, when our northern neighbors let down their guard and allow the snow gate to remain open I get the following:

I bought a snowblower last winter during the first heavy snowfall. I had enough of shoveling snow.
It ended up costing about $200 per use so far.... As much as I hate snow it would be nice to get some use out of the blower this winter Lol.

As far as the jacket, those varsity and suede with fur are good for getting from the car to the mall ect.
Real outdoor exposure up here requires a couple more layers

When I am shoveling snow all I need is a tee shirt.

The wind is what bothers me. Windproof doesn't need much insulation.

I had a varsity jacket that my father got from the local tire store that someone had left there and no one claimed. I lasted 2 years and I liked it.

Whereabouts are you located? A t-shirt will work just fine when it's relatively warm, but trying that when it's -30 or -40 will get you dead in a hurry!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Best thing I have found to stay warm is to layer properly.
Coldest weather I have ever been in was in north Dakota sitting in a goose pit all day.
15 below but a wind of maybe 30 MPH,wearing a down hat (60% of heat loss is from your head as thats were 60% of your blood flow go's)
Silk T shirt, wool pendleton, down jacket, silk longjohns, one thin pair of silk socks, one pair of heavy wool socks and my orvis snow pacs, was toasty all day.
