Thanked: 485Old Gun Maker's Marks/Proofing Marks
Hi there. Is anyone here knowledgeable about maker's marks/hallmarks on old guns like duelling pistols? I have a mate who's asked me to see if I can find some info (he doesn't use the 'net) and he gave me some drawings of the marks on a brace of duelling pistols. He has some info on the weapons and wants to check that against what the marks may tell him (i.e. approx age, maker, etc). I can post the picture easily if anyone knows anything about this subject. I know there are some forums around on old guns, but I don't really want to join a forum just for one question :-) Happy to PM too :-)
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 485Thank you, unfortunately none of those match, I'm going to go ahead and post a picture of the marks. I won't say anything about the weapons, just in case that 'leads' the answer I may get...
