Thanked: 2Being A Gentleman
I came across this poster in one of the blogs I frequent today:
Gentleman Rules Print 11x17 by DapperPaper on Etsy
I have been reading a lot of items about being a gentleman and social attitudes with regards to how men conducted themselves in the past compared with how men conduct themselves today. I thought this poster was a nice summation of what I have been reading so I thought I would share it. Realize that I am in my twenties so for me this stuff is interesting and thought provoking. For others who are older they may have an attitude of "and?" because they were raised in a different culture and to them this is "common sense".

Thanked: 44Luckily men today are probably nicer than they were at any other time in history...especially toward outgroups and members of what have historically been referred to as lower classes.
Perhaps there'll be a pleasant merge between our improving morality and the nostalgic aesthetic.

Nah... People still suck. We are no better then years ago. I mean, I can't even wear my top hat outside without getting weird stares. If I open a door or pull out a chair for a lady ... They end up being a feminist and scowl at me. And I myself refuse to just shake anyone's hand. After all, I don't know where they've been!
It's just corn syrup... Warm, blood flavored, corn syrup ...

Thanked: 1You might get a lot out of the Art of Manliness, which in a roundabout way got me to this site. There's a bit of "whatever" kind of content but there's also some really great articles.
