Thanked: 58Glock vs. M&P?
I've just traded for a used Glock 22 and have been second guessing myself about whether I should've held out for a S&W M&P. Does anyone here have first hand experience with both and a preference towards either?

Glock is a good weapon however to tell you the truth H&K is better than both.

i had an HK USP 9 & .40 , they were my fav hand guns , i could shoot them like a pro ...lol.. had to get rid of them to pay some emergency things and could never see paying $800 for another one ...
i now shoot and carry Glocks , i have shot the M&P'S and they just didnt feel right and there was a certain ammo ( i dont remember what it was ) but i was getting a few jams in the M&P ..... i hated the feel of the Glock at first but now it feels great and all of my Glocks have burned through ANY brand ammo ive put through it without a hiccup !! i like the idea of my Glocks just having the trigger safety and i feel it gives an advantage in a carry gun cause there is less to worry about if you need to use it and you shouldnt have your finger on the trigger unless your ready to fire , plus i know its gonna go boom everytime i pull the trigger !!! and on a side note i dont know what a new M&P goes for but a new Glock by me is $500 , value to cost i think is far ... value to looks ??? uuummmm another discussion ....lol

I have a wide choice of carry, but my Day-To-Day is a Glock 19. It has NEVER jammed, only about 1100 rounds through it.
I like the old 2 & three digit Smith & Wesson autos, but have no desire for the M&P.

We're issued the Glock 21, with the M-3 tactical light. I like them honestly. In fact, for my off duty carry I bought a G36sf (slim frame). My service pistol has been exposed to dust, dirt, snow, ice, rain, banging into door frames, even rolled around in the street on a few occasions and its still rock solid and works everytime. That counts a lot when you might have your life or your partners on the line.

Thanked: 284I like Glocks in theory but I'm part of the "I can't deal with the grip angle of the Glock". I know that's a hot issue but it's a real noticeable difference for me.
I have the HK .40 compact and love that thing. I was part of a highway patrol sponsored competition one day and got 2nd in the accuracy round against 1911 race guns! That is in no way touting my shooting skills, which by the way are not that good, but rather what those HKs can do! I know favorite guns are like favorite colors, but just thought I'd put my +1 for HK.I love living in the past...

I love HK's! They are great. Problem is the limited availability of parts and accessories and the extremely inflated price of said parts and accessories when you come across them. I owned a USP at one point and really liked it, but I let it go. I still think the M&P feels better in the hand and points more naturally, but that is personal preference. I can't knock HK

Carried a Glock for the last 10 of my 33 years in L.E. It never failed me when extreme prejudice was needed. Only other handgun to hit my holster with as much confidence is my 1911. Sorry to the Glock & Wesson guys, but the only S&W I would own is a wheel gun.
Remember your handgun is only there to be able to fight your way back to your rifle, which you should have never put down in the first place.
