Default Thinking of buying another electric guitar

Have a possible buyer for my oldest comic books so I should be getting around $800 for 35 comic books so I am thinking about getting another used Carvin for drop tuned songs. I have a DC127 now and wouldn't mind another as there is no better electric for the price in my opinion.

I have a Gibson Les Paul Junior. I absolutely love it. No frills, just an amazing guitar for rock and blues. Very simple, yet very versatile. I believe they are right around $800 if I remember right.

Nice guitars guys. I love Gibsons but they are way overpriced. $4000 for a Les Paul Custom is outrageous in my opinion. I can buy two Carvins for that and they blow away anything Gibson makes. A Carvin is like a Paul Reed Smith for half the price. If you have never played one I urge you to if you get the chance. They are amazing.

A new guitar is always a nice investment!

I have to admit though, when it comes to electric guitars, I have always been cheap and very lucky. I own one stratocaster knock-off, a fake Les Paul, a electro accoustic Stagg and a cheap but very functional bass by London City. The first I bought new from the shop for a €150 about 12 years ago and it still plays absolutely fine. The second I bought from a flee market for €50. Even though it's a cheap fake, it actually plays and the humbuckers sound very nice. It's basically my experimentation guitar: I try out different, weird tunings (like CGGFAD), put screwdrivers between the neck and strings à la Sonic Youth, zap it with remote controls to make weird sounds.. According to most, that's abuse even for a cheap guitar. Rest assured: I only do that to one guitar, not with the others. The electro accoustic was actually from my father in law, but he gave it to me when he was cleaning up because he doesn't play the guitar. The bass is from a friend of mine who sold it for 60 bucks.

The only guitars I paid decent money for, are my classic guitar and my Crafter folk guitar.

    Default Fender lead 1

This is my 1980 Fender lead 1 i made my own pickguard out or aluminum checker plate, and put a single coil from a strat in the neck. Still needs a little work and a different switch, but its really fun to play.

At the $800 price point you can't go wrong with Epiphone. Nowadays they seem to be more known for their knock-offs, but they were once a respected maker in their own right and do make a quality product. I have an Epiphone Casino (same model that John Lennon used during the Revolution/Get Back era) that my wife bought me before we were married and I love it.

Nice. I had two Rickenbackers, a Strat (American Standard), and now use a Gibson SG.
