Carl, I think your I DON'T WANT COWBOY BOOTS comment may be being ignored, can you rename this the cowboy boot thread, and start a new one for European style low cut gents footware. Now I miss my brown suede Chelsea boots.

I don't see a "No Cowboy Boots" sign in the OP.

That's very true, I shall beware the guns. Good advice everyone, thank you very much. I think I shall buy both pairs of boots, to hell with Cindy and what she thinks, and take the boots with me to buy trousers.
Cindy also said no to a waistcoat, so clearly she has no idea WHAT so ever!
Quite right hirlau, not in OP but about of 3 or 4 I believe Carl alludes to the fact that he does not want cowboy boots, just an opinion on whether one pair of the boots he wanted would make him look like a cowgirl, therefore it would be more appropriate to post pictures of cowgirl boots to compare to Carl's choice. However I should probably be the last one to complain as I tend to go off on Much bigger tangents than this. Furthermore my previous comment was meant to be in jest. Please add as many virtual smilies as you deem appropriate. Using a phone to post makes it quite difficult to add pics, smilies etc.
I'm appreciating ALL the comments, once again the banter round here is most entertaining. I am interested in seeing the cowboy boots, just so I can show Cindy. I had a great chuckle about Otto's post last night, and when I sit down later to share the rest of these gems we're going to have a WOW of a time. Might even do some boot scooting or whatever it's called and get stuck into the moonshine (not that there's anything wrong with that). (;)) x Infinity plus squared...
Velvet jackets in deep red or dark purple look good to if you've got the confidence to carry it off, I'm thinking blazer/ smoking jacket style, ivory or cream double cuff shirt with cufflinks, open at the neck, paired with trousers(no turn ups no pleats) and waistcoat in chocolate brown, bung new shoes on bottom done. 15 yrs ago I probably would also have been wearing a cravat. :-)
Too true. Do you think this sort of look is too flamboyant?
