    Default Jigs for grinders

    Hello!
I have been experimenting with different jig ideas for my grizzly knife grinder. I have not found something that is really solid yet. I was curios if any of you guys would like to share what you use or what you may have used in the past. I forge my blades as much as possible and then bring it to the grinder to finish up. I have been grinding freehand lately but would like to have a bit more consistency in the product. Also, what size grinding wheels are you guys using?

    Thanks for the input!!

I use a fence in combination with polyester based fixturing compound (Bondo), and shims, for my pre heat treat grinding.

I'm demonstrating the jig here. http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...as-meet-3.html

I don't use the small grinder shown any more for this, but I use a similar technique with a hinged work table with my 2x72 belt grinder.

I just checked out that link.. man I wish I had a set up like that! Someday, someday. My basement work room is moving forward great though, and I've been adding new tools. Have not got into regrinding yet, or some of the other more complicated processes, but I like to read up first and be ready.
Those guys also look like they have some teamwork going on. It would be nice to have a group of people like that to work with.

No jigs. I freehand everything. Only exaception is the Lancet or faux frameback grind, because that's the only way to get a clean grind like that.
