    Default Ulfberht Sword

Not sure where to post this and thought this was a logical place.
Season 40 Premiere of Nova is August 5th. 'Master blacksmith Ric Furrer examines the design of the Vikings' Ulfberht sword.'

Well thanks for sharing. I know they already did an episode on it before several years ago concerning the metallurgical make up of the sword. I don't remember the black smith they had make the sword but it might be the same guy.

I'm not sure, but might that be the same as this? Odd that a season premiere would be a repeat, but the description sure fits.

It's an interesting show, and I think it makes it pretty clear just how remarkable those blades were. Well worth watching, IMHO.
Geezer, WW243 and Robbied like this.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
